Holly Hunter Joins ‘True Blood’ Creator Alan Ball’s New HBO Drama
Holly Hunter has joined the cast of Alan Ball’s upcoming HBO family drama, TheWrap has learned.
The untitled series focuses on the multiracial Black-Bishop family: philosophy professor Greg, his lawyer wife Audrey (Hunter), their three adopted children from Somalia, Vietnam and Colombia, and their sole biological child.
This seemingly perfect, progressive family is in actuality harboring deep rifts when one of the children begins to see things others cannot. Is it mental illness? Or something else?

Hunter’s career spans both film and television and has earned her both an Oscar (“The Piano) and two Emmy Awards. She recently appeared as Senator Finch in “Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice,” as well as the A&E Networks miniseries “Bonnie & Clyde” as Emma Parker. She also starred in the TNT series “Saving Grace” throughout its three season run.
Hunter is represented by ICM Partners, Management 360 and Ziffren Brittenham
The project is the first under Ball’s new two-year overall deal with the network he’s previously worked with on “Six Feet Under,” as well as “True Blood.” He also served as executive producer on the Cinemax series “Banshee” during its four-year run.
Ball will serve as writer and executive producer on the new series under his Your Face Goes Here banner, along with fellow executive producer Peter Macdissi.
