HBO Renews The Newsroom and True Blood

HBO has renewed freshman series The Newsroom and drama True Blood, the network announced on Monday.

Ratings: The Newsroom posts HBO's third-best debut

The Newsroom, starring Jeff Daniels, takes a behind-the-scenes look at the workings of a fictional cable news network. Last week's premiere debuted to 2.1 million viewers to post HBO's third-best series premiere since 2008.

True Blood: Now that Pam is free, what's next?

True Blood, currently in its fifth season, stars Anna Paquin, Stephen Moyer and Alexander Skarsgard. Season 6 will see co-executive producer Mark Hudis succeed Alan Ball as showrunner.
