‘Gotham’ Casts James Remar in Recurring Role

Fox has closed a deal with James Remar, adding the actor to “Gotham” in a recurring role.

Remar will play Frank Gordon, Jim Gordon’s (Ben McKenzie) uncle. Frank is described by producers as a master at playing both sides and a man who knows how to keep a secret.

Frank abandoned the family after Jim’s father’s fatal car crash and now, 25 years later, he’s returned to reconnect with his estranged nephew. But Frank harbors a dark secret, one that will upset the very foundations of Jim’s world and force him into a terrible choice between saving his family and saving his city.

This past summer, Remar joined Season 2 of Hulu’s “The Path.” He currently plays Rob Lowe’s boss on “Code Black,” another recurring role.

Remar’s past TV gigs include 96 episodes of “Dexter” and some “State of Affairs,” “Grey’s Anatomy” and “Sex and the City” work, among other jobs.

Fox’s Batman prequel airs Monday nights at 8/7c.
