Gordon Ramsay to Host Fox's Live Cooking/Talk Show The F Word

Gordon Ramsay is already known for his salty language in the kitchen. Now Fox is putting him on live TV with The F Word.

The prolific TV chef will host a new live cooking/variety series called The F Word, debuting on Fox in 2017, the network announced Friday. (The show is based on Ramsay’s hit UK series of the same name.) Each hour-long episode will be part cooking show, with families from across the country going head-to-head in a cook-off, and part talk show, with Ramsay chatting up celebrity guests and appearing in food-themed field segments.

With four (!) other Fox reality shows — Hell’s Kitchen, MasterChef, MasterChef Junior and Hotel Hell — still on his plate, Ramsay is a very busy man these days. (His shows tend to be great slot-fillers for the network when other Fox shows get moved or canceled.) But the live element of The F Word adds an interesting wrinkle to the formula.

“Gordon Ramsay is not only one of the biggest names in the culinary world, but his expertise, combined with his larger-than-life personality, also make for genuine event television,” Fox entertainment president David Madden said in a statement. “Let’s face it, with Gordon live on television, the phrase ‘anything can happen’ takes on a whole new meaning.”

Let’s just hope that someone makes sure Fox’s “bleep” button is in good working order before The F Word premieres.
