Exclusive: Watch 'American Idol' Alum Casey Abrams Host a Backyard Jam

Casey Abrams is celebrating his birthday with the release of a new video: a Laurel Canyon-esque version of his song "Great Bright Morning" (from his self-titled 2012 debut album) with his chosen "orchestra of people." No recording studio required, the giant choir came together in his own backyard -- literally.

Featuring a who's-who of fellow American Idol stars, Abrams -- who turned 24 on Thursday (Feb. 12) and competed on season 10 of the Fox show -- recruited fellow season 10 contestant Haley Reinhart, season 6 runner-up Blake Lewis and season 5 finalist Elliott Yamin to round out a chorus that also included actress Alyson Stoner (of Cheaper By the Dozen and dancing in Missy Elliott's videos) and former X Factor contestant Dani Knight singing fireside.

"Great Bright Morning" is a song about friendship, Abrams has said, inspired by his own experiences exploring the hills of Idyllwild, Calif., with his dog.

Currently appearing as a special guest on Postmodern Jukebox's European tour, Abrams' previous video for the covers site, a rendition of Fountains of Wayne's "Stacy's Mom," went viral.
