Exclusive: Valerie Harper to Guest Star on Melissa & Joey
Valerie Harper is hopping over to Melissa & Joey as Mel's Aunt Bunny, TVGuide.com has learned exclusively.
On the upcoming episode, titled "Thanks, But No Thanks," Mel (Melissa Joan Hart) talks Joe (Joey Lawrence) into getting rid of an unwanted wedding gift. But Mel soon finds herself in a panic when her Aunt Bunny (Harper) and Uncle Bert decide to come visit the newlyweds and see the gift in person.

Harper, who was diagnosed with lung cancer in 2009, announced in March of 2013 that she'd been given only three months to live after a brain cancer diagnosis two months prior. Despite the diagnosis, she went on to compete on Dancing With the Stars and most recently had a two-episode arc on Hallmark Channel's new series Signed, Sealed, Delivered.
Melissa & Joey returns for a special Halloween episode on Wednesday, Oct. 22 at 8/7c. Harper's episode is slated to air in 2015.
