Premiering Friday, Jan. 6 at 9/8c, the long-gestating drama whisks Kansas resident Dorothy Gale (Person of Interest‘s Adria Arjona) off to a magical kingdom by way of a violent tornado — but this is hardly a straight retelling of L. Frank Baum’s iconic tale.
NBC’s Oz is ruled by warlord witches, including Nip/Tuck‘s Joely Richardson as Glinda the “Good,” and populated by twisted versions of the characters you think you remember — like the hot, bloody scarecrow (?) Dorothy finds hanging on a cross in the middle of the desert.
