Diddy Actually Did It! Check Out His Hilarious 'Downton Abbey' Cameo
Diddy on "Downton Abbey"?! Diddy on acid?!
We doubt there are any hallucinogens involved, but Diddy sure did get his Amanda Bynes on Wednesday with some decidedly offbeat tweets. Yep, Diddy used social media to announce that he's joining the cast of PBS's "Downton Abbey." PBS tells E! News that it's "simply not true," which is a bummer. But that doesn't take away from the sheer amusement of these tweets. He started with a sort of verbal striptease. First:
I'm going to be making a big announcement in the next hour-im excited for yall to hear!
— Diddy (@iamdiddy) May 15, 2013
Moments later:
I have to admit that Downton Abbey is one of my favorite shows- and thats why Im so excited today @downtonabbey
— Diddy (@iamdiddy) May 15, 2013
Then the twitterverse went into a tizzy with corsets and bottles popping:
MY BIG NEWS: So happy to announce that Im a series regular on DOWNTON ABBEY-my favorite show+i'll be debuting a sneak peek tonight 12am PST!
— Diddy (@iamdiddy) May 15, 2013
He retweeted a shout-out from Christopher Minaya. And then he gave us a picture:
Sneak peek from the set of Downton Abbey. Stay tuned for a special preview tonight 12am PST #downtonabbey instagram.com/p/ZWTT75plzr/
— Diddy (@iamdiddy) May 15, 2013
And then another picture:
Another shot of me in action from the set of Downton Abbey-cant wait to share the preview tonight!… instagram.com/p/ZWeT78plyp/

So Diddy wasn't kidding. He was on "Downton Abbey"... well, sort of.
At midnight, as promised, Diddy Tweeted a link to a Funny or Die spoof. This is fan fiction at its finest, with Lord Wolcott (Diddy) inviting Lord Grantham to throw some hundies into "a little company named IBM. You may not know about it, but our kids will love it."
(Warning: Video contains profanity.)
For real though, on May 1 PBS did confirm that they're adding a black character to the series. He's just not, you know, a zillionaire superstar.
