The network on Friday aired a special preview of Descendants 2, offering anxious fans their first behind-the-scenes look at the highly anticipated sequel.

“I can tell you with absolute utter confidence: This one is going to blow the first one out of the water,” star Dove Cameron says in the 45-second sneak peek.

Adds co-star Sofia Carson, “The sequel is about knowing where we come from makes us who we are. We’re part Auradon and part Isle.”

For those unfamiliar with the Disney Channel franchise, it centers around the children of four infamous villains — Mal (Cameron), the daughter of Sleeping Beauty‘s Maleficent; Evie (Carson), the daughter of Snow White‘s Evil Queen; Jay (Booboo Stewart), the son of Aladdin‘s Jafar; and Carlos (Cameron Boyce), the son of 101 Dalmations‘ Cruella de Vil — who relocate from the Isle of the Lost, where all Disney villains reside, to the Kingdom of Auradon, where they attempt to make a new start.

Descendants 2, premiering Summer 2017, will test the core four even more, sending them back to the Isle and introducing them to three new junior baddies: Uma (China Anne McClain), the daughter of The Little Mermaid‘s Ursula; Gil (Dylan Playfair), the son of Beauty and the Beast‘s Gaston; and Harry (Thomas Doherty), the son of Peter Pan‘s Captain Hook.
