Danica McKellar stars in beastly Syfy movie 'Tasmanian Devils' [Video]

It's still early in 2013, but get ready for what's sure to be one of the best bad TV movies of the year! Syfy is tackling the infamous monster from down under in their upcoming original movie "Tasmanian Devils." This flick might be dishing out the cheese factor in spades, but it stars a familiar and beloved TV star: Danica McKellar, who played Winnie Cooper in the nostalgic '80s-'90s dramedy "The Wonder Years." More familiar faces: Olympian and "Dancing With the Stars" veteran Apolo Ohno, and Kenneth Mitchell from "Jericho."

In this sneak peek at "Tasmanian Devils," Danica and crew are onboard a helicopter and inbound to Devil's Peak. (Where else?) But this adventure takes a carnivorous turn when their visit unleashes "the ultimate predator."

"Aboriginal ancestors would call upon this devil to defend the island against their enemies," says Danica's character. Oops, perhaps not the best place for an expedition. The world's largest flesh-eating marsupial is bigger, hungrier, and faster than any you'd ever find in the real Tasmania. It is Syfy, after all -- creators of "Sharktopus," "Mega Shark Versus Crocosaurus," and "Ice Spiders."

Guns are blazing, blood is splattering, and the special effects are as garish as they get, but Danica's acting chops are legitimate. They might even lend a hint of credibility to this sure-to-be awesomely bad movie. So pop that corn and settle in -- it's gonna be a bumpy ride.

"Tasmanian Devils" airs on Saturday, 1/19 at 9 PM on Syfy.
