‘Daily Show’s’ Rich Blomquist Signs Overall with Fox TV

The Daily Show With Jon Stewart” alum Rich Blomquist has inked a two-year overall deal with 20th Century Fox Television, the studio announced today.

Under the deal, Blomquist — who co-created the 20th/ABC pilot “American Monster” with his wife, actress-comedian-writer Kristen Schaal — will develop new projects for the studio.

Blomquist was a writer on “The Daily Show” for 10 seasons. Prior to that, he was a contributing writer on “Saturday Night Live.” In 2010, he and Schaal published “The Sexy Book of Sexy Sex” for Chronicle Books.

“Rich is one of those rare voices — hilarious, irreverent, completely unique and fiercely intelligent,” said TCFTV president of creative affairs Jonny Davis. “We loved him from ‘The Daily Show’ and knew we wanted to be in business with him exclusively. We loved working with him on ‘American Monster’ and we can’t wait to develop with him again.”

Blomquist is represented by UTA.
