The Tomorrow People is bringing back its first original cast member to The CW update.
Nicholas Young, who originated the role of John Young — currently played by Australian actor Luke Mitchell — in the 1970s British children's program from Roger Price, is set to recur in the first season, The Hollywood Reporter has learned.
Slated to appear in the eighth and ninth episodes of the season, Young will portray Aldus Crick, a scientist who first discovered and studied the first generation of the Tomorrow People.
Stephen Jameson (Robbie Amell) believes that his father's old friend, Aldus, may have information concerning his father's mysterious disappearance. But in helping Stephen search for his dad, Aldus puts himself back on Ultra's radar and in danger with the organization, forcing Aldus into hiding.
Tomorrow People tells the story of several young people from around the world who represent the next stage in human evolution, possessing special powers, including the ability to teleport and communicate with each other telepathically. Together they work to defeat the forces of evil. Phil Klemmer (Political Animals), Greg Berlanti and Julie Plec are executive producers, with Melissa Kellner Berman co-executive producing.
The Tomorrow People debuts Oct. 9 on The CW.
