Country Stars Slam Kutcher for ACM Apperance
Ashton Kutcher is really having a killer week. On Sunday, the actor sent the Internet into overdrive when it was announced he would be playing Steve Jobs in an upcoming biopic – thereby causing Apple enthusiasts all over the world to scratch their heads in confusion and wonder if they had been a victim of the lamest April Fool’s prank ever. (Unfortunately, it turns out the casting choice is real and not some April Fool’s ruse). And then later that day, (for some reason) the recently separated star showed up to Academy of Country Music Awards, wearing a ten-gallon hat and over-the-top county western wear, to present Female Vocalist of the Year award to Miranda Lambert. In an interesting move, also opted to do his own terrible rendition of George Strait's I Cross My Heart – and consequently offended a lot of the country music community, who were still just wondering why Ashton, who has nothing to do with music let alone country music, was even on the stage.
Apparently Lambert was not amused by the onstage antics. In fact, the singing sensation tweeted on Monday, "Was Ashton Kutcher making fun of country or is it just me? Watching it back now and I'm kinda wondering?"
And Lambert wasn’t the only country crooner who was miffed by Mr. Two & a Half Men, singer Justin Moore tweeted his disdain from the MGM Grand Garden Arena, writing, "Seen Ashton kutcher at the acms tonight. What a douche! I don't care for people making a mockery of the way country artists' dress."
Hey Justin, are you really surprised he is a douche? The dude is pretty much the most famous douchebag of all time. It’s kind of his thing. Let’s look back: Ashton Kutcher single-handedly started the douchetastic trucker hat craze of the early 2000s – aka the worst fashion trend of the past 15 years. The horror of Ashton’s trend even beats out both the clubfabulous Affliction look still prevalent today and those bougie Juicy velour outfits that women I never want to converse with still seem to wear. TRUCKER HATS ARE WORSE THAN BOTH OF THOSE PHENOMENONS!
So who knows if Ashton was making fun of country music, thought he was being funny and it failed or if he is just too dumb to get why people would be offended. He isn’t a star cause he is a rocket scientist – despite the fact that he is about to play a man who revolutionized technology – the dude is famous cause he is hot and has a hot bod'.

So yes, Ashton’s ensemble was a stunt that fell flat, but let’s let cut the guy a little slack, he has a LOT of work ahead of him -- like trying to get people to believe that he can be a smart person. And let’s also be perfectly honest: Those country western stars really do look ridiculous. Do I need to bring up Garth Brooks' shirts? Yeah, didn’t think so.
