The Complete Pilot Report: CBS Has Beverly Hills Cop, Josh Holloway and Toni Collette
The fall TV season is taking shape. Networks have ordered dozens of new pilots starring familiar faces like Lost's Josh Holloway, Andy Samberg, The Office's Ellie Kemper and Malin Akerman (Watchmen), and from proven producers like J.J. Abrams, Arrow's Greg Berlanti, David Shore (House) and Joss Whedon.

DRAMA
The Advocates
A lawyer and an ex-con team up as "victim advocates," going to the very edge of the law to right wrongs and fight for the underdog. The Mentalist's Bruno Heller will write and executive-produce.
Anatomy of Violence
A criminal psychologist who studies sociopaths partners with a young female detective with whom he shares a conflicted past. Homeland producers Howard Gordon, Alex Gansa and Alex Cary will write and executive-produce.
Backstrom
Based on the Swedish book series about an overweight, irascible detective as he tries and fails to change his self-destructive behavior. Bones' Hart Hanson will write and executive-produce.
Beverly Hills Cop
In a sorta-sequel to the movie franchise, Axel Foley's (Eddie Murphy) police officer son (Brandon T. Jackson) patrols the rich and famous of Beverly Hills. The Shield's Shawn Ryan will write and executive-produce with Murphy. Kevin Pollak and David Denman will also star.
Hostages
Toni Collette plays a surgeon who is recruited to operate on the president, an assignment that propels her family into a grand political conspiracy. Dylan McDermott is an FBI agent tasked with helping the family. Based on an Israeli series, the pilot is written and executive-produced by Jeffrey Nachmanoff (The Day After Tomorrow). Jerry Bruckheimer will also executive-produce.
Intelligence
At the U.S. Cyber Command, a unit has been created around one agent (Lost's Josh Holloway) with a very special gift — a microchip has been implanted in his brain that allows him to access the entire electromagnetic spectrum. Michael Seitzman will write and executive-produce with American Horror Story's David Semel, who will direct.
NCIS: Red
An upcoming episode of NCIS: Los Angeles will act as this show's backdoor pilot, in which a small mobile team of agents — John Corbett, Kim Raver, Gillian Alexy, Scott Grimes and Edwin Hodge among them — are forced to live and work together as they crisscross the country solving crimes. From NCIS: LA creator Shane Brennan. Miguel Ferrer will also star.
The Ordained
The son of a Kennedy-esque family leaves the priesthood to become a lawyer to prevent his politician sister from being assassinated. Lisa Takeuchi Cullen will write, while War Horse's Frank Marshall and Devious Maids' Larry Shuman will executive-produce.
Reckless
A sultry legal show set in Charleston, S.C., where a gorgeous Yankee litigator and a Southern city attorney struggle to hide their intense attraction while clashing amidst a police sex scandal. What About Brian creator Dana Stevens will write and executive-produce with Ghost Whisperer producers Ian Sander and Kim Moses.
Second Sight
Based on the U.K. series of the same name, this gothic psychological thriller tells the story of a detective who has hallucinations caused by an autoimmune virus. He discovers that catching the killer depends as much on these insights as it does his eyesight. Homeland executive producer Michael Cuesta will write and executive-produce with his brother Gerald Cuesta and CSI executive producer Carol Mendelsohn.
The Surgeon General
This medical show about the Surgeon General of the United States was created by Samuel Baum (Lie to Me), who will write and executive-produce.
COMEDY
Bad Teacher
Based on the Cameron Diaz film, a sexy, foul-mouthed divorcée becomes a teacher to find her next husband. Happy Endings scribe Hilary Winston will write and executive-produce with Bad Teacher producers Lee Eisenberg and Gene Stupnitsky.
Crazy Ones
A single-camera, half-hour workplace comedy about a father-and-daughter team in the world of advertising. (Oscar winner Robin Williams has been cast as the dad.) Ally McBeal's David E. Kelley will write the pilot and executive-produce with Arrested Development's Dean Lorey and McBeal's Bill D'Elia. James Wolk will also star.
Ex-Men
A young guy (Chris Smith) finds camaraderie living among the more experienced guys — Kal Penn, Tony Shalhoub and Jerry O'Connell among them — he meets in a short-term rental complex. How I Met Your Mother's Rob Greenberg will write and executive-produce with Eric and Kim Tannenbaum (Two and a Half Men). Rebecca Breeds will also star.
Friends with Better Lives
A group of thirtysomething friends each think the other has it better. Friends' Dana Klein will write and executive-produce with The Neighbors' Aaron Kaplan.
Jacked Up
Rules of Engagement's Patrick Warburton stars as a beloved, recently retired baseball player who finds that adjusting to not working isn't as easy as he thought it would be. Friends' Greg Malins will write and executive-produce with Rules' Doug Robinson. Warburton will also produce.
The McCarthys
This family comedy is about a loud, sports-crazy Boston clan. Brian Gallivan (Are You There, Chelsea?) will write and executive-produce with Friends with Benefits' Will Gluck. Oscar nominee Jacki Weaver and Jack McGee will star.
Mom
A newly sober single mom (Anna Faris) tries to pull her life together in Napa Valley. West Wing's Allison Janney will play her mother, the source of all her problems. Two and a Half Men's Chuck Lorre will write and executive-produce with Eddie Gorodetsky. Nate Corddry, Matt Jones, Spencer Daniels, Sadie Calvano and Blake Garrett Rosenthal will also star.
Super Clyde
A meek, unassuming fast-food worker (Harry Potter's Rupert Grint) decides to become a superhero. Written and executive-produced by Raising Hope's Greg Garcia.
Unauthorized Greg Garcia Project
A recently divorced guy's life gets more complicated when his parents have marital problems of their own. Written and executive-produced by Raising Hope's Greg Garcia.
Untitled Jim Gaffigan Project
Comedian Jim Gaffigan stars as a harried but happily married New York City father of five (as he is in real life). Rescue Me co-creator Peter Tolan and Gaffigan will write and executive-produce.
Untitled Tad Quill Project
A recently widowed father raises his 12-year-old son while jumping back into the dating pool. Bent's Tad Quill will write and executive-produce.
Untitled Rottenberg & Zuritzsky Project
Based on an Israeli series, a married mom struggles to balance family, life and work. Smash co-executive producers Julie Rottenberg and Elisa Zuritsky will write and executive-produce with Homeland executive producers Avi Nir and Ran Telem.
