Chelsea Handler’s Netflix Talk Show Shifts to Weekly Format, Sets Premiere Date

Chelsea Handler’s Netflix talk show will move to a weekly format when it returns for its second season in April.

Beginning on April 14, “Chelsea” will air hour-long episodes every Friday for a total of 30 weeks. It previously aired three nights a week in 30-minute episodes.

In an announcement Thursday, Netflix said that Season 2 will have “more in depth interviews, more robust field pieces, more dinner parties and the opportunity to dig deeper into the subjects that matter to Chelsea most.” The show will also see the host travel to India, Europe, Washington, D.C., Montana and more.

“Chelsea”, the platform’s first attempt at a late-night-style talk show, broke from the traditional Netflix model of releasing entire seasons at once when it premiered last year. It was renewed for a second season back in July.
