Charlie Sheen’s Ex-Wife Brooke Mueller: I Didn’t Overdose, I Was ‘Napping’
It looks like Brooke Mueller went to the same school of excuses as Lindsay Lohan. After it was reported by TMZ on Friday that the ex-wife of Charlie Sheen and mother of his 3-year-old twin boys had overdosed on drugs, her rep Steve Honig – who coincidentally or not just quit as Lohan’s mouthpiece – explained, "An assistant thought Brooke was non-responsive while she was napping and hastily called an ambulance. As a precaution, Brooke was brought to a local hospital and discharged after an hour. She was diagnosed with exhaustion and dehydration and is now fine and resting at home. That's it."
That was the same excuse Honig used for the “Liz & Dick” actress in June when she was found unconscious in her hotel room during filming of the Lifetime movie. “She was on set last night at 7 p.m. and worked through the night until 8 a.m. this morning,” he explained at the time. “She took a nap before shooting her final scene. Producers were concerned when she did not come out of her room and called paramedics as a precaution. Lindsay was examined and is fine, but did suffer some exhaustion and dehydration.”
For someone who was suffering from exhaustion and dehydration, Mueller, 35, seemed to really be enjoying herself the night before her hospitalization when she hit up Mr. Chow in Beverly Hills with her new boyfriend, jewelry designer Pascal Mouawad … who coincidentally, again, had planned to start a jewelry line with Lohan last year. As Mueller exited the Japanese restaurant on Thursday night, she was wide-eyed, but seemed out of it and was confused by simple questions. After posing for photographers, she slowly climbed into the back seat of an awaiting car – backwards – as photographers laughed at her.
According to TMZ, Mueller, who split from Sheen in November 2010 but has remained friends with him, has been to rehab 15 times for dependency issues, most recently this past June. In March, she struck a plea deal with prosecutors in Aspen, Colorado, after she was arrested for cocaine possession following her arrest for attacking a woman in a nightclub last December.
It has been reported that the two sons Mueller and Sheen have together, Bob and Max, are being looked after by the actor’s other ex-wife, Denise Richards, as Mueller and Sheen work through their issues. The two women were seen shopping with Richards’ three daughters and Mueller’s twins in early September at the Malibu Country Mart – but Mueller arrived alone and met up with all of them there.
