‘Brain Games’ Sets Nat Geo Channel Record, E!’s ‘Ryan Lochte’ Off To Soft Start

National Geographic Channel’s new series Brain Games drew 1.5 million viewers for its debut last night, setting a record as the highest-rated series launch in the channel’s history. Brain Games, which premiered with two back-to-back half-hour episodes, had already been renewed ahead of its debut and is slated to begin production on Season 2 in the summer. Brain Games’ strong opener followed the Sunday night episode of NatGeo’s Wicked Tuna, which set a new series high with 1.2 million viewers.

Numbers were not as upbeat for the series premiere of What Would Ryan Lochte Do? on E! Sunday night. The reality series starring the Olympic swimmer averaged 807,000 total viewers, about half of its lead-in, a Ryan Seacrest special with the Kardashians (1.5 million).
