Banijay Group Launches Banijay Studios North America With David Goldberg As CEO

In 2000, David Goldberg was hired by Endemol founder John De Mol to launch Endemol USA. He did and led Endemol’s North America operations as chairman-CEO for more than 13 years, until departing last December. Now Goldberg has been asked to do the same for another overseas heavyweight, Banijay Group, which is partnering with Goldberg to launch Banijay Studios North America. Goldberg will serve as CEO of Los Angeles-based Banijay Studios North America as well as Banijay Group President, overseeing the Group’s further expansion into English language territories and Latin America. He will be based in Los Angeles and will report to Marco Bassetti, CEO, Banijay Group.

Banijay already has US presence. Studios North America will operate alongside Bunim/Murray Prods. (The Real World), which Banijay Group acquired in 2010. Bunim/Murray will remain autonomous from Banijay Studios North America, with chairman Jonathan Murray continuing to report directly to Bassetti. “Banijay is a well capitalized, creative company that has the potential to become one of the most important players in the largest television market in the world,” Goldberg said. “Banijay Studios North America will be a magnet for some of the most creative producers and talent in the content creation business.”
