Arrow Scoop: Alex Kingston Back as Dinah Lance

Alex Kingston

is set to reprise her role as Dinah Lance on The CW’s Arrow, TVLine has learned — but will it be for the purpose of a most unexpected family reunion?

Kingston first appeared on the superhero drama during late Season 1, when Dinah returned to Starling City to make amends with her daughter Laurel and husband Quentin as well as posit the theory that their other daughter, Sara, was in fact alive. At the time, that was just shoddily sourced crazy talk, but now… well, we’ll see if Quentin has the resolve to keep Sara’s super secret when Dinah resurfaces in Episode 14.

Arrow lead Stephen Amell hinted at Kingston’s encore in a tweet to actress Natalie Morales, who among other things is a huge fan of Doctor Who, where the British redhead recurs as River Song.

Well known for her run as ER‘s Dr. Corday, Kingston’s more recent TV credits include episodes of NCIS and Private Practice.

Arrow resumes Season 2 this Wednesday at 8/7c with the first of two episodes introducing Barry Allen aka The Flash (played by Glee‘s Grant Gustin).
