‘Age Of Adaline’s Lee Toland Krieger To Helm ‘Vanish Man’ For Lionsgate, 21 Laps

EXCLUSIVE: Lionsgate has set Lee Toland Krieger to rewrite and direct the Denison Hetch spec script Vanish Man. This comes after Krieger directed Age Of Adaline for Lionsgate. The new project is an action thriller that follows a man who helps people escape their troubled lives by staging elaborate deaths and creating new identities. He finds himself enlisted by the FBI to track down the one client that was not supposed to disappear.

The pic will be produced by Shawn Levy and Dan Cohen of 21 Laps, which has a relationship with the filmmaker. Cohen gave Krieger the Adaline script when he worked for Sidney Kimmel Entertainment (which co-financed Adaline), and more recently, Krieger was attached to The Spectacular Now before James Ponsoldt came aboard to helm it. John Sacchi and Matt Janzen are overseeing the project for Lionsgate.

Krieger previously directed the indie pics The Vicious Kind and Celeste & Jesse Forever. 21 Laps has the Jeff Blitz wedding comedy Table 19 at Fox Searchlight with Anna Kendrick and the Denis Villeneuve sci-fi thriller Story Of Your Life at Paramount with Amy Adams starring. Krieger is repped by UTA, Anonymous Content and attorney George Davis. Levy & 21 Laps are repped by WME.
