'Walking Dead' Actress Investigated Over Ricin Letters Sent to Obama

Nathaniel Richardson, the 33-year-old Texas man questioned by authorities in connection with ricin-laced letters sent to President Obama and New York City Mayor Bloomberg, has come up with his defense — which, apparently, is blaming his wife. (It seems as if things haven't been so great at home as of late.)

After investigators found castor beans, used to make ricin, in the Army vet's car, they brought him in for further questioning. During the interview, Richardson insisted that his pregnant wife, 36-year-old Shannon Rogers Guess, is the mastermind behind the nefarious plot, according to the New York Post.

If the name Shannon Rogers Guess rings a bell at all, that's probably because she happens to be an actress who has recently appeared in bit parts on hit shows including "The Vampire Diaries" and "The Walking Dead."

According to reports, the beans were purchased with a credit card. Richardson insisted he does not use credit cards, and (proverbially) pointed at his better half, prompting investigators to bring in the fiery, pregnant beauty — who happens to also be a mother of five — in for a round of questioning.

For her part, the TV actress argued that she had been gone for a few days, and when she returned, she discovered the ricin in the refrigerator. In addition, she claimed that she found directions on "how to make ricin" in their house and uncovered that someone (not her) had searched the Internet on their home computer for both Obama and Bloomberg.

Both Richardson and Guess underwent polygraph tests, and while the results are still unknown, there wasn't enough evidence to hold Richardson, who left the courthouse with his father while his wife was still being questioned.

Only time will tell whether Richardson, or Guess, or both are formally charged, but we feel pretty confident that these two won't be finding comfort in each other's arms while it all plays out.
