Many fans of Topanga and Cory on "Boy Meets World" wanted their real-life counterparts, Danielle Fishel and Ben Savage, to fall in love offscreen, too. But instead, the teenage Fishel had a different famous boyfriend: 'NSYNC singer Lance Bass!

The two dated from 1999 to 2000, during the final seasons of "Boy Meets World"; Fishel even took Bass to her prom at Calabasas High School outside of Los Angeles, Calif. There's picture proof!

Bass confirmed the story on his Twitter while promoting a special prom-themed night on "Dancing With the Stars" (remember, he was a contestant on Season 7):

Their romance was short-lived, and a few years later, Bass revealed he was gay. Fishel, who is still good friends with him, said she never suspected while they were dating.

"I was a little naïve because I was 17. I didn't really have a lot of experience in relationships, but my mom had actually suspected and had said something to me after we broke up," she told OK magazine.

Fishel praised Bass's decision to come out and called him "a great boyfriend and an incredible gentleman." And in case you're wondering (which you totally are), she said they never slept together. "I was a virgin all through my relationship with Lance, and then some. It was more like a kissing, high school-style relationship," she revealed.

One relationship that didn't happen, though, was with her co-star, Savage.

"We went on one date, when I was about 15, and by the time the dinner was over we realized mutually that we were more like family than lovers," she told Maxim.

Now, the two are teaming up again for the spinoff "Girl Meets World," and the longtime friends jokingly call each other "hubby" and "wifey."

Offscreen, Fishel will soon have a real-life "hubby"; she's engaged to longtime boyfriend Tim Belusko. They are reportedly going to marry this fall.
