Will the new bachelor, pro tennis player Joey Graziadei, fall in love with a girl from Newport in the new season of "The Bachelor"?

In a lineup of 32 women – the most ever on the popular reality show – Sydney Gordon is one of the women competing for a rose in Season 28, which premiered Monday, Jan. 22. Gordon is the owner of Folk Vintage Co., a vintage store on Thames Street in Newport.

"Let the journey begin," Gordon posted on Instagram, with a promotional photo for the show. For contractual reasons, Gordon could not comment on this story.

'The Bachelor': What to know about Joey Graziadei's season after 'The Bachelorette'

Graziadei was the runner-up on Season 20 of "The Bachelorette" with lead Charity Lawson.

Now the star of the show, he's "looking for a life partner who is outgoing, caring and shares his love for adventure and exploring the outdoors," according to this season's description from ABC. "He loves hiking, surfing, and ending his days watching the sunset, but knows he has much more love to give and the only thing missing is someone with whom to share his life."

In her bio for the show, Gordon said she already knows that Graziadei checks a lot of her dating boxes.

"I am so ready to find my forever person," she said.

Rhode Islanders on 'The Bachelor'

Over 28 seasons of "The Bachelor," plus spin-off shows including, but not limited to "The Bachelorette," "Bachelor in Paradise," and, most recently, the "Golden Bachelor," this is hardly the first time a Rhode Islander has been on the show.

Warwick's Jared Haibon appeared on several shows in "The Bachelor" franchise and married fellow contestant Ashley Iaconetti.

The most famous is Jared Haibon, of Warwick, who was first a contestant on the 11th season of "The Bachelorette," making it to week eight. He then appeared on the second season of "Bachelor in Paradise," where he met Ashley Iaconetti. The two split in week five, but three years later they announced they were dating. In season five of "Bachelor in Paradise," they made a guest appearance during which Haibon proposed. They are now married with a child and own Audrey's Coffee House in South Kingstown.

But Haibon's not the only one.

Krisily Kennedy, of Warwick, was on the seventh season of "The Bachelor" and almost won. She was the runner-up, telling The Providence Journal that the leading bachelor had started calling her less leading up to the finale.

Even so, she said the show was "a great opportunity for me. ... The best thing about it was that I did learn to open myself up and express my feelings."

Jackie Gordon, of Newport, appeared on the 15th season of "The Bachelor" and then returned to the franchise for season two of "The Bachelor Pad." She didn't find Mr. Right either time.

Lauren Marchetti, of Cranston, was on the 17th season of "The Bachelor" and was eliminated in week one.

Most recently, Scituate's Jill Chin was on season 26 of "The Bachelor," during which she was eliminated in week four. She then came back for the eighth season of "Bachelor in Paradise" but quit in week 3.

On the male side of things, Jay Resmini, of Barrington, and Michael Burns, of Providence, were on the sixth and seventh seasons, respectively, of "The Bachelorette." Both of them went home in week one.
