It has to be true, a fake TV show from the 1980s reported it.
Don’t call it a comeback. While next month’s X-Men: Apocalypse might feature the big-screen debut of Oscar Isaac’s seemingly immortal mutant villain, he’s been here for years — or, at least, that’s what a new video promoting the movie claims.
The In the Footsteps of… En Sabah Nur short — which takes the form of a promo for a fictional documentary series that exists in the X-Men cinematic universe — teases out the scale of the threat that Apocalypse poses, while also placing the new movie in context with 2014’s X-Men: Days of Future Past.
The video is just one piece of a promo campaign that inserts Apocalypse into human history, with the X-Men Movies Twitter account blaming the villain for various historical calamities in a series of images labels “The Ages of Apocalypse” — named after the fan-favorite storyline from 1990s comic books.
When Apocalypse rises, civilizations fall.
