The Beatles: Sgt. Pepper’s Lonely Hearts Club Band (50th Anniversary Edition) (Capitol). Fifty years ago, the Beatles released their groundbreaking Sgt. Pepper’s, an album that has had startling impact to this day. In this renewed, extensive four-disc collection, fans are given insight into the making of the masterpiece via a wealth of previously unreleased material. The boxed set features a new stereo version by Giles Martin and 33 tracks from the recording sessions, offering a peek at how the Fab Four developed their songs.

Lil Yachty: Teenage Emotions (Quality Control Music, LLC/Motown). Atlanta rapper Lil Yachty knows something about teenage emotions, being currently 19 himself. True to form this album should appeal to that set of fans, taking a lighthearted, energetic approach to a range of emotions and mixing it all up with a infectious blend of rap, pop, and alternative. Guests include Migos, Diplo, YG, and more.

Shakira: El Dorado (Sony Music Latin). Shakira packs a lot into this latest release, traversing mostly her signature Latin grooves, but also including some rock, reggaeton, and a couple of English-language songs as well. Guests appearing on the set include Prince Royce, MAGIC!, Maluma, Nicky Jam, Black M, and Carlos Vives.

The Charlatans: Different Days (BMG Rights Management). Madchester stalwarts the Charlatans chose to self-produce their 13th album at their own studio in Crewe, and show off their ageless, chilled-out groove throughout. Appearances from Johnny Marr, Paul Weller, Anton Newcombe, and more add further intrigue to the project.

Danzig: Black Laden Crown (Evilive / Nuclear Blast). This is Glenn Danzig’s first album since 2010, and he’s not paving any new trails here. This is his typical dark-flavored doom and horror show. However, he also doesn’t shy away from using his best weapon, namely his powerful and emotive voice, which will entrance fans regardless of the originality level.

Kraftwerk: 3-D: The Catalogue (Parlophone UK). This ambitious 8-CD set aims to bring fans a full audio/video documentary of the Kraftwerk 3-D multi-media art performances which were presented in various prestigious museums around the world. Now you can experience this in your own living room!

Justin Townes Earle: Kids in the Street (New West). Those in the mood for some rootsy Americana need look no further this week than Earle’s seventh album. On this release, he takes a renewed vigor towards his art, having spent considerable time out on the road touring previously. The result is an audible step forward in his creative process.

Mark Slaughter: Halfway There (EMP Label Group). This is the second solo album from the frontman for melodic rockers Slaughter, and fans of that band will be pleased to know he’s carrying on some of the classic Slaughter vibes here. It’s clear he’s enjoying the autonomy of working on his own as this release also mixes in a bit more experimentation than his solo debut.

Havana Maestros: Americuba (Sounds Worldwide). This collective of legendary Cuban musicians, including members of the Buena Vista Social Club and Afro-Cuban All Stars, put their unique stamp on American hits from the likes of such artists as Missy Elliott, Otis Redding, Janelle Monáe, Jason Derulo, Chic, B.o.B & Hayley Williams, Ben E. King, and more. As expected, it’s a colorful and fun auditory journey.
