New 'The Martian' Clip: Matt Damon Has a Question About Aquaman

Meet the crew of the ill-fated Ares 3 mission.

Ten days in isolation can do things to a person, even if it’s for a good reason like training for a mission to Mars.

The latest teaser for The Martian shows that isolation has driven some of the crew of the Ares 3 to greater levels of self-knowledge, while others have gone towards the big questions.

“Ares 3: The Right Stuff” introduces the crew of the mission that will, eventually, abandon astronaut Mark Watney (Matt Damon) on the surface of Mars after a storm apparently leads to his death. In addition to Damon, the all-star team includes Jessica Chastain, Michael Peña, Aksel Hennie, Sebastian Stan and Kate Mara. (The movie also features Jeff Daniels, Kristen Wiig and Donald Glover.)

Adapted from the novel by Andy Weir by Drew Goddard, The Martian is directed by Ridley Scott and produced by Scott, Michael Schaefer, Aditya Sood, Mark Huffam and Simon Kinberg. The movie is set to reach theaters Oct. 2.

(And Aquaman can telepathically talk to “marine-based lifeforms,” officially, not just fish. Now you know.)
