New Marvel Series ‘Legion’ Unlike Any Superhero TV Show

For those of you who were thinking there aren’t enough superheroes on TV, you are in luck, because FX premiered Legion, a new series from the Marvel Universe. However, Legion isn’t like any other superhero show, as it takes you on a twisted journey through David Haller’s mind — which is pretty powerful.

David was diagnosed with paranoid schizophrenia, so most of his life has been spent in and out of mental hospitals, which is where he met his buddy Lenny, played beautifully by Aubrey Plaza, and his girlfriend, Syd Barrett, who is special like David. However, David may not be schizophrenic. He just has telekinetic powers, and it’s possible that he’s not imagining the voices he hears and visions he has.

The show is visually stunning, the story is intriguing, and the characters are fascinating. It’s a wild ride that even David himself has a hard time comprehending. Toward the end of the first episode, David asks Syd, “Please, I have to know. Are you real?”

Legion airs Wednesdays at 10 p.m. on FX.
