New Kids on the Block Have Strict Selfie Rules for Fans

On the second-season premiere of Rock This Boat: New Kids on the Block, fans got unprecedented access to the behind-the-scenes shenanigans of the boy band as they got ready for their seventh fan cruise. Over the course of their four-night tropical cruise, fans will get the experience of a lifetime and possibly even score a selfie with their favorite New Kid — that is, if they’re willing to follow the guys’ strict selfie rules.

During the first event of the cruise, Donnie Wahlberg explained to the crowd the ground rules for taking selfies. Those included letting the guys take the pictures for the fans, because they’ve taken tons of selfies, and, of course, not forgetting to smile. While the selfie rules were probably necessary, Jonathan Knight learned the hard way that they need crowd-surfing rules as well. All the guys took turns crowd-surfing, and when Jonathan went out, he ended up getting a finger poked in a place he wasn’t expecting.
