Taskmaster host Greg Davies will be leading the proceedings, with Noel Fielding returning to the show as one of the team captains.

This Country star Daisy May Cooper will join the ranks as the second team captain, with Hate Thy Neighbour comedian Jamali Maddix appearing as a regular guest.

Each week, Never Mind The Buzzcocks will see a host of celebrities and comedy guests to compete in a competition about all things pop culture, music and chaos.

On the announcement, host Davies said: “I have always loved Never Mind the Buzzcocks and am thrilled to be the new host on Sky.

“We have brilliant comedic talent on the team and plenty of exciting musical guests will be joining us. All that being said, I’m so sure that no one reads these press quotes in their entirety that I’m going to finish by listing types of bread: rye, sourdough, sliced white. Oh, and cob.”

Noel Fielding will return as a team captain on the 'Nevermind The Buzzcocks' reboot

Phil Edgar-Jones, director of Sky Arts and Entertainment for Sky, said: “Buzzcocks is one of those truly iconic shows and to be bringing it back with Greg Davies at the helm, alongside Daisy May Cooper, Noel Fielding and Jamali Maddix is a buzz and a treat for lovers of tuneless humming everywhere.”

The original Never Mind The Buzzcocks ran from 1996 to 2015, with an impressive 28 series underneath its belt.

It became known for its outlandish moments - most notably, Preston from Ordinary Boys walking off set after host Simon Amstell read out passages from his then-wife Chantelle Houghton’s autobiography in 2007.

Mark Lamarr hosted proceedings for the first 17 series, before Amstell took over from series 18 to 23.

After that, the show was presented by a rotation of comedian hosts including Rhod Gilbert and Jack Whitehall.

Phill Jupitus was a team captain throughout the show's run, with Bill Bailey, Sean Hughes and Fielding all having stints in the captain’s seats.
