Though it's been 30 years since Party of Five aired its first episode, Neve Campbell says the cast is still thick as thieves and have remained integral parts of each other's lives.

While thinking about where Julia Salinger would be doing today, the actress, 50, exclusively tells PEOPLE that she believes her Party of Five character would be a "professional writer" for the New York Times. In terms of her personal life, Campbell says fans would like to think Julia would have ended up with Michael Goorjian's Justin Thompson.

"It's funny, Michael Goorjian, who played Justin, is our kids' godfather," she smiles, referencing the children she shares with her partner JJ Feild. "He's one of our best friends. So we've stayed really tight."

Party of Five aired its first episode in 1994 and concluded after six seasons in 2000. The series centered around the Sallinger siblings who were left to grow up on their own after losing their parents in a car accident. In addition to Campbell and Goorjian, the show starred Matthew Fox (Charlie), Scott Wolf (Bailey), Lacey Chabert (Claudia) and Jacob Smith (baby Owen).

Over the years, the cast has stuck together. The Scream alum tells PEOPLE that Chabert "doesn't live far from us" and they often see each other.

"I was at her 40th this year," she recalls. "She was itty-bitty little girl when I met her. It was so crazy and she's a happy mom and an incredible woman."

Campbell also says that she and Feild have "vacationed" with Wolf and his wife Kelly. During a recent trip to Venice, Italy, she tried to meet up with Fox and his wife Margie but they just "missed each other."

"We're all still pretty tight," she explains. "We played brothers and sisters and siblings, who've gone through a really traumatic time. And it was deep stuff in that show, big questions that the audiences were going along with us on. But we were living that every day."

After shooting for "16 - 17 hour days, Monday through Friday, 10 months a year," Campbell says that the cast has forged a bond that won't easily broken.

"We spent more time with each other than any of our own families or friends. So of course you become tight," she adds.
