Nets sign Taurean Prince to contract extension

The Brooklyn Nets announced on Monday that they have agreed to a contract extension with forward Taurean Prince.

ESPN’s Adrian Wojnarowski reports that the deal is for two years and $29 million.

The Nets traded for Prince in the offseason, sending Allan Crabbe and a pair of first-round picks to the Atlanta Hawks in a deal that cleared cap space to sign Kyrie Irving and Kevin Durant in free agency.

Prince slated to start in Brooklyn

Prince, a 6-foot-8 forward playing in his fourth NBA season, averaged 13.5 points, 3.6 rebounds and 2.1 assists as a part-time starter in Atlanta last season. He’s expected to start this season in Brooklyn as Durant recovers from the Achilles injury he suffered in last season’s playoffs.
