Netflix Top 10: ‘One Piece’ Live-Action Series Remains at No. 1 as Adam Sandler’s ‘You Are So Not Invited to My Bat Mitzvah’ Leads Films

“One Piece” continues to lead the list of titles during the Sept. 4-10 viewing window on the Netflix Top 10 chart. Picking up another 19.2 million total views in its first full week of availability, the figure pushed the series to the most viewed title of the week.

In its first four days of availability, the live-action adaptation of the Japanese manga quickly sailed to the top of Netflix’s top 10 chart with 18.5 million total views. During the Aug. 28-Sept. 3 viewing window, the series reached the Top 10 in 93 countries, and debuted at No. 1 in 46 with 140.1 million hours viewed. While it’s not an exact comparison (Netflix only calculated viewing hours at the time), “Cowboy Bebop” — Netflix’s 2021 live-action adaptation based on the anime series of the same name, which was canceled after one season — opened at No. 9 on 15.26 million hours viewed in its first four days of availability.

On the film side, Adam Sandler’s “You Are So Not Invited to My Bat Mitzvah” remained at No. 1 with 8.8 million total views. The film now has garnered 52 million views in only three weeks since its release. During the previous week, the movie forged passed the Japanese manga’s figures, earning 21.9 million views in its first full week of availability and taking the No. 1 spot overall.

Taking second place on the English-Language TV list is Season 5 of “Virgin River” which debuted to 9 million total views following its Sept. 7 premiere. Thus, knocking UK thriller “Who is Erin Carter?” down to No. 3 with 7.1 million views.

Season 3 of “Top Boy” also cracked the chart this week, ranking at No. 4 with 5.6 million total views within just four days of availability. For added context, this season of “Top Boy” had a runtime of 5.05 hours while “Virgin River” Season 5 (which was released on the same day) has a runtime of 7.39 hours. The romantic drama was viewed for 68.5 million hours as opposed to the 28.7 million hours viewed recorded by “Top Boy.”

Also making their debut among the Top 10 this week is “Shane Gillis: Beautiful Dogs,” “Predators” and “Spy Ops” which came in at No. 6, No. 7, and No. 10, respectively. Gillis’ comedy special earned 2.9 million total views after premiering on Sept. 5 whereas “Predators” managed the same total views within its first five days of availability. But, with a runtime of 3.45 hours, the docuseries recorded 10.8 million hours viewed, putting it behind Gillis’ hour-long special. “Spy Ops” earned 1.9 million total views in its first three days of availability.

It’s worth noting that “Painkiller” fell to the bottom of the chart this week. With 2 million total views in its fourth complete week of availability, the limited series sank to No. 9 on the list.

Elsewhere on the chart is “Live to 100: Secrets of the Blue Zones” (3.1 million views), and “Disenchantment” Season 5 (2.2 million views).
