Netflix Top 10: ‘Beckham’ Scores Top Spot on English TV Chart With 12.4 Million Views as ‘Sex Education’ Season 4 Moves to No. 2

David and Victoria Beckham’s Netflix docuseries debuted in the No. 1 spot on the Netflix Top 10’s English-Language TV chart during the Oct. 2-8 viewing window with 12.4 million total views. Hailing from director Fisher Stevens and producer John Battsek, the documentary offered an intimate look at the soccer phenom, telling his fans who he truly is behind closed doors.

“Sex Education” Season 4 dropped to second place with 6.6 million views in its second full week of availability. The final installment opened to 12 million total views during the Sept. 18-24 viewing window, subsequently ending the No. 1 streak of One Piece” on Netflix Top 10’s English-language TV chart and bringing the Moordale students’ story to a close on a high note.

The finale featured several new faces alongside the original crew including “Schitt’s Creek” star Dan Levy, Thaddea Graham (“Doctor Who”), Lisa McGrillis (“Somewhere Boy”), Marie Reuther (“Kamikaze”), Jodie Turner-Smith, Eshaan Akbar.

“Reptile,” Netflix’s latest crime thriller starring Benicio del Toro, Alicia Silverstone, and Justin Timberlake, continued to lead the English Films chart for the second week in a row with 19.9 million views. During the Sept. 25-Oct. 1 viewing window, the film opened at No. 1 on the English Films chart with 17.7 million total views, almost making it the most viewed title of the week. The film fell just behind Spanish dystopian thriller, “Nowhere” which snagged 23.4 million views.

On the Non-English TV list, “Lupin” returns to the chart with the premiere of Season 3, which lands at No. 1 during the viewing window. After arriving on the streamer on Oct. 5, the french series quickly snagged 11.6 million total views. Season 1 and 2 of the series also reappeared on the list in second and fourth place as viewers either revisited or watched the series for the first time.

Elsewhere, the fifth season of “Love is Blind” remained at No. 3 on the list of English titles with the release of the latest batch of episodes. In its third week of among the list of popular shows, the dating series picked up an additional 3.7 million total views. The season finale will become available for streaming on. Oct. 13, with the reunion episode following on Oct. 15, so the series could see a jump in viewership in the coming weeks but it’s safe to say the unscripted series will likely remain among the top five in the next week.

“One Piece” moved up to fourth place this week after last week’s performance, which landed the live-action adaptation in sixth place on the chart with 3.8 million total views. Picking up another 2.5 million total views, bringing it to 60.3 million views to date.

“Virgin River” Season 5 fell to sixth place on the chart with 2 million total views — a tie with “Encounters,” which is now in its second week of availability. Though, “Encounters” landed in fifth place with a runtime of 3.23 hours and 6.8 million hours viewed while “Virgin River” grew to 15.2 million hours viewed with a runtime of 7.39 hours. (Netflix calculates total views by dividing hours viewed by the total runtime hours).

“Castlevania: Nocturne” and “Murdaugh Murders” Season 2 both recorded 1.8 million total views during the viewing window, pushing them to No.7 and No. 8 on the chart, respectively.

Closing out the list is “Who Killed Jill Dando?” (1.6 million) and “The Great British Baking Show” Season 11 (1.6 million).
