Since Prince Harry and Meghan Markle signed a reported $100 million deal with Netflix in 2020, the royals have released three projects, all of which are docuseries: Harry & Meghan, following their love story, Heart of Invictus, about Prince Harry's Invictus Games, and Live to Lead, about inspiring world leaders.

At a Netflix event in February 2024, Netflix Chief Content Officer Bela Bajaria was asked what the Sussexes were working on, per Deadline. He replied, "They have a couple of unscripted things they're working on with Brandon [Reigg]. And they actually have like a bunch of development, they have a movie in development, a [scripted] series that they’re working on. So all very early development, with a movie, a TV show and a couple of unscripted shows. But yeah, the movie's great."

In October 2023, Meghan spoke briefly about what they have in development. "Things that make people feel–I was going say 'good,' but it's more than that, things that make people feel something, right? And feel a sense of community," the Duchess of Sussex said. "But we have so many exciting things on the slate. I can’t wait until we can announce them, but I’m just really proud of what we’re creating. My husband is loving it, too. It’s really fun."

In April 2024, Deadline reported there is a series in the works that will see the Duchess of Sussex "celebrate the joys of cooking, gardening, entertaining, and friendship." The as-yet-untitled cooking show will be produced by Archewell and Sony Pictures Television's The Intellectual Property Corporation, and directed by Michael Steed (who directed episodes of Anthony Bourdain: Parts Unknown). In addition, Leah Hariton, who worked on Selena + Chef, will serve as the showrunner. The show could possibly be tied into her new venture, American Riviera Orchard, which could sell cookbooks, home goods, tableware, and food like jams.

It will pull the curtain back on the grit and passion of the sport, capturing players and all it takes to compete at the highest level."

It will be produced by Boardwalk Pictures, and Miloš Balać, who worked on Welcome to Wrexham, will serve as the showrunner. It is also untitled, andin the early stages of production. It's unclear if Prince Harry, who plays polo, will be in the show.

A Great Expectations prequel TV show

In June 2023, the Wall Street Journal reported that one of Prince Harry and Meghan's projects was a prequel to Great Expectations by Charles Dickens, focusing on the character of Miss Havisham with the working title Bad Manners. "The prequel would recast the lonely spinster as a strong woman living in a patriarchal society, though it is unclear whether the show will get a green light from Netflix," the Journal wrote.

In August 2023, it was reported that the Sussexes purchased the film rights to Meet Me at the Lake by Carley Fortune. Fortune said in a statement, "I'm so thrilled about working with Netflix and Archewell to bring Meet Me at the Lake to the screen. Will and Fern’s love story is dear to my heart, and I can’t imagine a more perfect partnership."

The romance novel is set in Ontario, and follows a second-chance romance between Fern and Will. As the publisher writes, how could [Fern] "possibly trust this expensive-suit wearing mirage who seems nothing like the young man she met all those years ago. Will is hiding something, and Fern's not sure she wants to know what it is."
