Netflix’s upcoming anime adaptation of "Scott Pilgrim" will see the return of many familiar voices.

On Thursday, Netflix announced that the stars of Edgar Wright’s "Scott Pilgrim vs. the World" — the 2010 cult film adaptation of Bryan Lee O’Malley’s beloved “Scott Pilgrim” graphic novels — will reprise their roles.

This means that everyone from Michael Cera (Scott Pilgrim) and Mary Elizabeth Winstead (Ramona Flowers) to Satya Bhabha (Matthew Patel) and Ellen Wong (Knives Chau) will be back.

The highly anticipated anime series, which was first announced in January 2022, will be animated by Japanese anime house Science Saru.

Joining Cera, Winstead, Bhabha and Wong are Kieran Culkin (Wallace Wells), Chris Evans (Lucas Lee), Anna Kendrick (Stacey Pilgrim), Brie Larson (Envy Adams), Alison Pill (Kim Pine), Aubrey Plaza (Julie Powers), Brandon Routh (Todd Ingram), Jason Schwartzman (Gideon Graves), Johnny Simmons (Young Neil), Mark Webber (Stephen Stills) and Mae Whitman (Roxie Richter). It is unclear whether Shota Saito and Keita Saito (Kyle Katayanagi and Ken Katayanagi) will return.

Abel Góngora serves as the show’s director, while O’Malley and BenDavid Grabinski serve as its co-showrunners and co-writers. O’Malley and Grabinski will also executive produce the series alongside Wright, Nira Park, Marc Platt, Jared LeBoff, Adam Seigel and Michael Bacall.

American chiptune-based pop and rock band Anamanaguchi will work with Joseph Trapanese on the series’ score. Anamanaguchi, who notably composed music for Ubisoft’s “Scott Pilgrim vs. the World: The Game,” will also produce original songs for the anime.

Wright expressed his excitement about the upcoming anime in a statement.

One of the proudest and most enjoyable achievements of my career was assembling and working with the dynamite cast of “Scott Pilgrim.” Since the film’s release in 2010 we’ve done Q&A’s, remembrances and charity read throughs, but there was never the occasion to reunite the whole gang on an actual project. Until now

Original creator Bryan Lee O’Malley, along with writer BenDavid Grabinski, have conjured up an anime series of Scott Pilgrim that doesn’t just expand the universe, but also… well, just watch it. I’m more than happy to announce that I have helped coax the entire original cast back to voice their characters on this epic new adventure. You are in for a treat.

“Scott Pilgrim” follows a slacker musician named Scott Pilgrim who falls in love with an Amazon delivery girl named Ramona Flowers.

In order to date Ramona, Scott must first defeat her seven evil exes: Matthew Patel, Lucas Lee, Todd Ingram, Roxie Ritcher, Ken Katayanagi, Kyle Katayanagi and Gideon Graves.
