New on Netflix May 2024: Bridgerton Season 3 Part 1, Eric , Atlas & More

Dear reader, the wait is almost over. Keep scrolling to find out all that's new on Netflix May 2024 — you know, to bide the time until the Ton returns in just a few weeks.

May is a huge month for new releases and returning content on Netflix, including John Mulaney's live, weekly comedy special, the first two seasons of Jujutsu Kaisen and the movie, all six seasons of Reba, Miranda Cosgrove's return in Mother of the Bride, and, of course, Jennifer Lopez's new action flick in which she saves the world from AI.

The biggest release this month, however, is the first part of Bridgerton season 3, centering the love story of Penelope Featherington (played by Nicola Coughlan) and Colin Bridgerton (Luke Newton). In her April 2024 Teen Vogue cover story, Coughlan called the eight-month filming journey for the highly anticipated new season “challenging,” and still “one of the most rewarding experiences of my life.” The first batch of new episodes arrives on May 16, and is expected to be one of the most impactful seasons of the worldwide phenomenon yet.

“I didn’t expect [filming season 3] to be a profound experience, and it was… I think a lot of Penelope’s story is about her stepping out of the shadows and into the light and taking up her space,” Coughlan told Teen Vogue. “I felt like I had to do that as well.”

A long-running working group in the Senate has issued its policy recommendation for federal funding for AI: $32 billion yearly, covering everything from infrastructure to grand challenges to national security risk assessments. In a final report published by the office of Chuck Schumer (D-NY), majority leader in the Senate, the bipartisan working group identifies the most important areas of investment to keep the U.S. competitive with its rivals abroad.
