Netflix Details 2024 Video Game Lineup, Including ‘Squid Game,’ ‘Rebel Moon,’ ‘Virgin River’ Tie-Ins

Netflix is set to make 2024 its biggest year in gaming so far.

On Thursday, the streamer unveiled a slate of titles set to debut over the next 11 months, including the previously announced “Squid Game,” “Virgin River” and “Rebel Moon” games based on Netflix-owned IP. No release dates were set, but the lineup confirms plans to launch each of these games within this calendar year.

To date, Netflix has 88 games available to play, with major releases including the “Grand Theft Auto: The Trilogy – The Definitive Edition,” “Oxenfree II: Lost Signals” and “Netflix Stories: Love is Blind,” the latter of which is the first installment in Netflix’s interactive fiction games based on Netflix shows and movies.

As the streamer continues its plans to expand into gaming, a journey Netflix first set out on in 2021, it has more than 90 games in various stages of development.

See below for the 2024 video game titles set at Netflix and the descriptions for each game provided by the streamer.

BRAID, ANNIVERSARY EDITION

The award-winning puzzle platformer Braid is back, reimagined and updated for modern hardware while still preserving the integrity of the original. Coming to mobile exclusively for Netflix members as well as consoles and PC, manipulate the flow of time in strange and unusual ways in this indie game from legendary designer Jonathan Blow. From a house in the city, journey to a series of worlds and solve puzzles to rescue an abducted princess. Braid, Anniversary Edition reimagines the title for modern, high-resolution hardware via a variety of changes and updates that still preserve the fundamental integrity of the original, including improved sound, hand-repainted graphics, smoother animation, the ability to swap back and forth between the old and new Braid on the fly, and an extensive and detailed developer commentary track.

CHICKEN RUN: EGGSTRACTION

From Aardman, the makers of the Chicken Run films, comes Chicken Run: Eggstraction a real time, top-down heist game that combines squad-based infiltration with high-octane, chaotic escapes. The game picks up after the events of upcoming film Chicken Run: Dawn of the Nugget , and players will get to visit a variety of characterful locations to rescue chickens and bring them back to Chicken Island. Available exclusively for Netflix members.

COZY GROVE: CAMP SPIRIT

Embark on a heartwarming adventure in Cozy Grove: Camp Spirit, the sequel to Spry Fox’s beloved life-sim game Cozy Grove. As a Spirit Scout on a haunted island, you’ll once again befriend and assist an unusual assortment of troubled ghostly bears. In addition to all new ghost stories, Camp Spirit comes with new activities (ever want to powerwash a ghost with a blowfish?), new furry companions with stories and abilities of their own (“can you pet the dog” is such a low bar…) and much more. Get ready to swear the Spirit Scout oath once again, in Cozy Grove: Camp Spirit!

THE DRAGON PRINCE: XADIA

The Dragon Prince: Xadia is a hero-based cooperative action RPG from Wonderstorm, the makers of The Dragon Prince hit animated series on Netflix. In the game, explore the world of Xadia with heroes from the series, which is entering its sixth season next year. Step into the boots of Xadia’s greatest champions, team up in co-op missions to fight iconic Dragon Prince villains, and discover new stories with all the heart, humor, and high stakes the series is known for. Available exclusively for Netflix members on mobile. Also coming to PC.

DUMB WAYS TO SURVIVE

An upcoming title from the makers of Dumb Ways to Die, the world’s most shared Public Service Announcement, which has more than 130 million downloads and 2 billion unique plays coming from every country in the world.

GAME DEV TYCOON

Replay the history of the gaming industry by starting your own video game development company in the ‘80s. Research new technologies and run your business. Create best-selling games and gain worldwide fans. New in the exclusive Netflix edition: Develop games based on some of your favorite films and TV series. Test your decision-making skills in bespoke story events and explore marketing opportunities with content creators.

HADES

This critically acclaimed rogue-like dungeon crawler is coming exclusively to iOS for Netflix members. Play as Zagreus, the prince of the Underworld and defy the god of the dead as you hack and slash your way out. It’s never the same experience twice: Each time you play, you’ll combine the divine might of various Olympian gods with your own in new ways, brave a wide variety of different challenges, and unravel more of the story featuring our award-winning art, audio, and narrative. HARMONIUM: THE MUSICAL

Harmonium is an interactive sign language musical and adventure/narrative game that follows Melody Macato, an energetic 10-year-old Filipina-American musician who became Deaf at a young age. For her upcoming debut show, she wants to create a new type of music that can be felt, seen, and is accessible to her friends. When Melody’s notes leap off the page, she is pulled into a musical and visual wonderland called Harmonium. To make it home in time for her big show, Melody has to face Cacophony, an all-consuming force who can only be defeated with a masterpiece symphony. In a world where all music is visualized, players explore the wonders of Harmonium through innovative gameplay mechanics and narrative puzzles that incorporate American Sign Language and allow the player to communicate through body language, handshapes, and gestures.

KATANA ZERO

Smash, dash, and manipulate time to unravel your past in this critically acclaimed neo-noir action-platformer. Overcome oppositions, manipulate environments, and defeat foes in this beautifully brutal acrobatic game from Askiisoft and Devolver Digital. Coming exclusively to mobile for Netflix members.

MONUMENT VALLEY 1 & 2

Monument Valley is a surreal exploration through fantastical architecture and impossible geometry. The player guides the silent princess Ida through mysterious monuments, to uncover hidden paths, unfold optical illusions and outsmart the enigmatic Crow People.

PAPER TRAIL

Paper Trail is a top-down puzzle adventure about leaving home, set in a paper world. Players must fold their way through a diverse, populated paper universe. Featuring fun and engaging characters and beautiful worlds to explore, this indie gem has already won more than 10 awards. Available exclusively on mobile for Netflix members. THE RISE OF THE GOLDEN IDOL

Set 300 years after the events of The Case of the Golden Idol, this new title has players follow the adventures of a dedicated relic hunter, set on discovering a powerful artifact that – if the rumors are true – has the ability to reshape the world. Players are launched into the analog grittiness of the 1970s, where they will be interacting with a range of characters from convicts to chat show hosts. Each one with a role to play in unearthing a centuries-long mystery.

REBEL MOON VIDEO GAME (title not yet announced)

A Rebel Moon game developed by Super Evil Megacorp. The game will take place following the events of Rebel Moon — Part One: A Child of Fire and Rebel Moon — Part Two: The Scargiver. Choose your rebel and join the fight in this four-player co-op action game.

SONIC MANIA PLUS

Exclusive to Netflix Games and on mobile for the first time, experience the ultimate celebration of past and future in Sonic Mania Plus.
