Netflix recently released the trailer for the sequel of the iconic 2018 film Believer. Starring Han Hyo-Joo as the perfect villain addition, the trailer of Believer 2 seems as dramatic as the first film. The movie will be released exclusively on the OTT platform on November 17, 2023. The upcoming film will resume the story from the first installment, showing a detective’s mission to uncover a deadly drug cartel.

Believer 2 comes after the success of the first film in 2018, which had a positive reception from millions of viewers. The sequel stars cast members from the first movie as well as new additions. Netflix has recently shared the official teaser and the trailer, which looks promising as the search to find the drug gang and its activities continue.

Believer 2 release date, plot, cast & more

As mentioned earlier, Believer 2 will be available to stream on Netflix on Friday, November 17, 2023. The film documents the story of detective Won-Ho’s search for his ally Rak, who goes missing after Brian gets imprisoned. Won-Ho eventually works his way to uncover the drug cartel.

Baek Jong Yul serves as the director of the film. As for the cast, Jo Jin-Woong will reprise his role as detective Jo Won-Ho. Cha Seung-Won will also retain his previous role, but this time, he stars in the main role as Brian Lee. Han Hyo-Joo is the newest addition to the franchise and will essay the role of the villain Big Knife, protecting Mr. Lee at all costs. Oh Seung-Hoon will be seen as Rak.

In September 2023, Netflix released the official poster and the teaser, stating “Some wars will never end.” A recurrent line in the trailer is “Mr. Lee is alive,” followed by Han Hyo-Joo’s appearance as the villain. She goes by the name Big Knife and is on a mission to protect Mr. Lee and kill all those who try to mess with him. She is also the only one who knows Mr. Lee’s identity.

The trailer follows a series of events, showcasing murders, kidnapping, drugs, and more. Moreover, Rak asks Big Knife to make him meet Mr. Lee. While his mission is unknown, he interacts with detective Won-Ho in the latter part of the trailer, asking him, “Once you accomplish everything you wanted to, can you go back to how things were?” The last scene depicts the two pointing their guns at each other.

Will Big Knife protect Mr. Lee? Will Won-Ho succeed to uncover the drug cartel? To find the answers, tune in to Believer 2 on November 17, 2023, on Netflix.
