'Squid Game: The Challenge' will premiere on Netflix on November 22

Squid Game: The Challenge is almost here!

Inspired by the original Squid Game drama series, the new Netflix competition will see 456 real players compete through a series of games that are either replicas of those featured in the original series or inspired by it — only this time they will only 'die' when a Hollywood-style blood squib explodes underneath their green and white tracksuits.

In a new teaser for the show shared on the Netflix YouTube channel Friday, a voiceover from a man wearing one of the show's iconic red tracksuits said: “Attention players. You will now compete for the biggest cash prize reality show in history.”

The countdown then showcased an incredible cash prize of $4,560,000.

Competitors dressed in the show's famous green and white tracksuits looked stunned as they walked on set for the first time. “You have got to be kidding me,” one person gasped as lumps of cash fell into a transparent globe.

“$4.56 million?” another said. “People do a whole lot worse for a whole lot less.”

Young-Hee — the creepy doll who detects if players are still moving during the “Red Light, Green Light” game — also appeared in the teaser, along with scenes of the gamers attempting to safely reach her without getting 'shot'.

Squid Game: The Challenge is set to premiere on November 22 on Netflix and follows the original Squid Game drama series, which was released on the streaming platform in 2021.

Back in January actor Anupam Tripathi, who played the role of Ali Abdul in Squid Game, spoke exclusively to PEOPLE after taking part in a Squid Game preview event.

Tripathi, 34, said it felt “so good” to do the game again.

“A lot of good memories have come back from the set, from the shoot, from the auditions, the storytelling, meeting the cast and having fun with them, telling serious conversations with the director about the character... Everything,” he added.

Tripathi went on to say that the competition set was almost “exactly the same” as the one in the drama series.

"The only difference is that there’s a roof here,” he told PEOPLE. “When we were filming it was in the summer and very hot in May and something like 456 people were there."

“So in the hot weather, we shot that scene and everything was real. People were sweating in the show and that was real sweat from the weather.”

The actor also told PEOPLE that his tactic to survive the dreaded 'Red Light, Green Light" game was to look into Young-Hee’s eyes, although he warned contestants could become dizzy if they stared too long.

“You almost have to look but not look and maintain the balance of your body too," he told PEOPLE.

Squid Game: The Challenge premieres globally on Netflix on November 22.
