Nestlé recalls some stuffed chocolate chip cookie dough due to 'potential' plastic pieces
Nestlé USA is recalling some of its ready-to-bake, refrigerated chocolate chip cookie dough products "due to the potential presence of white plastic pieces."
Nestlé initiated the voluntary recall last week, according to a company announcement. The recall is isolated to Nestlé Toll House Stuffed Chocolate Chip Cookie Dough with Fudge Filling products produced between June and September of this year.
The Nestlé Toll House Stuffed Chocolate Chip Cookie Dough with Fudge Filling products were distributed throughout the continental United States and Puerto Rico, the company said.
According to last week's announcement, Nestlé initiated the recall after "a small number of consumers" contacted the company about the issue of finding plastic pieces in these products.

"While no illnesses or injuries have been reported, we immediately took action out of an abundance of caution," Nestle wrote, adding that the company is "working with the U.S. Food & Drug Administration (FDA) on this voluntary recall and will cooperate with them fully."
The FDA and Nestle also shared photos of the packaging for Nestlé Toll House Stuffed Chocolate Chip Cookie Dough with Fudge Filling products. The UPC code found on the back of these recalled products is 050000429912.
Consumers who have purchased these products should not prepare or eat the dough, the company said. The product can be returned to the retailer it was purchased from for a refund or replacement.

No additional Nestlé Toll House products, such as the brand's other stuffed and refrigerated cookie dough products, are impacted by this recall, Nestlé said.
