Nelly And Ashanti Confirm Rekindled Romance: “Yeah, We Cool Again”

Nelly has confirmed that he and Ashanti are officially dating again. As a guest on Boss Moves with Rasheeda, the St. Louis native explained how the rekindled romance came to be.
“Yeah, we cool again,” detailed the 48-year-old rapper to Rasheeda and her husband, Kirk Frost.
“We cool again. I think it surprised both of us, though. It wasn’t anything that was, like, I don’t think planned. I think we both was pretty much doing what we do. But sometimes being separate, you understand one another more.”
The R&B singer herself also responded to the rumors. At the 2023 Video Music Awards on Tuesday (Sept. 12), Ashanti spoke with PEOPLE about her dating life as she accessorized her glizy gown with a clutch featuring she and Nelly’s faces.
“We’re in a great space, everything is positive, we’re having a lot of fun,” shared the “Foolish” performer with the outlet. She added a “Maybe!” when asked if she and Nelly would collaborate again musically.
Rumors that the two musicians were once again an item began to spread earlier this year. The pair were seen together at numerous public events, including the high-profile boxing match between Gervonta Davis and Ryan Garcia in April.
In May, a source revealed “Nelly and Ashanti are back together and both of them are very happy.”
Ashanti and Nelly first began dating in 2003 during the height of their respective careers. The couple dated for a decade before ending things in 2013.
