Neil deGrasse Tyson and Scott Hamilton Kennedy chat with Kyle Meredith about their new documentary, Shot in the Arm. The film takes a look at the anti-vax movement, explores the dissemination of disinformation, and ultimately seeks to help correct the course of humanity before it’s too late.

Writer and director Kennedy talks about originally working on the 2019 measles outbreak before transitioning to what was happening in 2020, while deGrasse Tyson digs into the social contract we have — or, rather, should have — with one another.

Pluls, Kennedy touches on the music in the film, from the Wilco song that gives the documentary its title to David Bowie’s “Space Oddity.” The three also chat about the combative mentalities that are seemingly the norm in America, why people are led astray by disinformation, and how history often holds clues for what’s to come.
