Rapper Kid Cudi, also known as Scott Mescudi, is collaborating with “Star Trek” in honor of “Star Trek Day,” launching the franchise’s “Boldly Be” campaign.

The partnership includes a new “Star Trek”-inspired Kid Cudi song and an interactive gaming element in addition to a fashion collaboration to be launched in October.

The collaboration between the popular musician and the beloved franchise “reflects the optimistic and inclusive spirit of adventure, discovery, imagination, and most importantly, hope, at the heart of the cultural phenomenon.”

Mescudi commented on his personal connection to “Star Trek.”

“I grew up watching ‘Star Trek’ with my dad who is single handedly responsible for turning me into a fan,” he said. “The most important thing to me is to be as authentic as possible. ‘Star Trek’s’ mission has always been about having a hopeful future and when I was first approached about this project it was the perfect marriage of all the things I believe in – being brave and a hero by doing what’s right and fighting for freedom. I can’t wait to share my love of this incredible franchise with the world.”

“Boldly Be” is inspired by the “Star Trek” ethos of IDIC, Infinite Diversity in Infinite Combinations.

A day after announcing that “NCIS: Sydney” would arrive in the U.S. and air this fall on CBS, the Eye network has released a first look at the first-ever international edition of the hit “NCIS” franchise.

The eight-episode season of “NCIS: Sydney,” originally commissioned by and for Paramount+ Australia, will air Mondays, beginning Monday, Nov. 13 (10 p.m. ET) on CBS, and stream on Paramount+ here (with plans to eventually air globally on Paramount+ in its territories).

“NCIS: Sydney” stars Olivia Swann (“DC’s Legends of Tomorrow”) as NCIS Special Agent Michelle Mackey and Todd Lasance (“Without Remorse”) as her 2IC AFP counterpart, Sergeant Jim “JD” Dempsey. The series also stars Sean Sagar (“The Covenant”), Tuuli Narkle (“Mystery Road: Origin”). Mavournee Hazel (“Shantaram”) and William McInnes (“The Newsreader”).

Disney and Hulu have announced that their new series “Goosebumps,” adapted from R.L. Stine’s best-selling children’s books, will premiere Oct. 13 on Disney+ and Hulu with a five-episode debut as part of the streamers’ “Hallowstream” and “Huluween” special events.

The plot description reads: “Plunging viewers into a world of mystery and suspense, the new ‘Goosebumps’ series follows a group of five high schoolers as they embark on a shadowy and twisted journey to investigate the tragic passing three decades earlier of a teen named Harold Biddle — while also unearthing dark secrets from their parents’ past.”

The episodes are inspired by five of the popular “Goosebumps” books: “Say Cheese and Die!,” “The Haunted Mask,” “The Cuckoo Clock of Doom,” “Go Eat Worms!” and “Night of the Living Dummy.”

Justin Long and Rachael Harris star in addition to Zack Morris, Isa Briones, Miles McKenna, Ana Yi Puig and Will Price.

Nicholas Stoller and Rob Letterman are the series creators and also serve as executive producers along with Hilay Winston, Neal H. Moritz, Iole Lucchese, Pavun Shetty and Conor Welch.

Amazon Prime Video has shared a first look at Nicole Kidman, Sarayu Blue and Ji-young Yoo in “Expats,” a six-part limited series based on Janice Y.K. Lee’s novel “The Expatriates.” The series will get its global premiere at TIFF on Sept. 8.

“Set against the vibrant and tumultuous tapestry of 2014 Hong Kong, ‘Expats’ centers on three American women—Margaret (Kidman), Hilary (Blue), and Mercy (Yoo)—whose lives intersect after a sudden family tragedy. The series interrogates privilege and explores what happens when the line between victimhood and culpability becomes blurred,” reads the series’ logline.

“Expats” also features Brian Tee and Jack Huston. It’s created and directed by Lulu Wang and written by Wang along with Lee, Alice Bell, Vera Miao and Gursimran Sandhu. The series is executive produced by Wang, Kidman, Bell, Per Saari, Theresa Park, Stan Wlodkowski and Daniele Melia.

Hulu has released the official trailer for FX’s “American Horror Story: Delicate,” which is set to star Emma Roberts and Kim Kardashian with a Sept. 20 premiere.

The trailer gives a first look into the hair-raising season to come. Seemingly on the hunt for fame, Roberts’ character juggles the balance between chasing her dream of becoming a mother and her newfound stardom. Alongside Kardashian, the two make shocking revelations about the fate of their lives to come.

“AHS: Delicate” is set to star Roberts, Kardashian, Cara Delevingne, Matt Czuchry, Billie Lourd, Denis O’Hare, Leslie Grossman and Michaela Jaé Rodriguez.

“American Horror Story” is a horror drama created and produced by Ryan Murphy and Brad Falchuk. Since its 2011 debut, Murphy and Falchuk have created several “AHS” installments, featuring stars like Angela Bassett, Lady Gaga and Evan Peters.

Netflix has released the trailer for “Lupin: Part 3,” the latest installment of the critically acclaimed French mystery thriller series based on Maurice LeBlanc’s famous fictional character Arsène Lupin. Omar Sy returns as Assane Diop, a gentleman thief.

The Part 3 logline reads: “Now in hiding, Assane must learn to live far from his wife and son. With the suffering they endure because of him, Assane can’t stand it any longer and decides to return to Paris to make them a crazy proposal: leave France and start a new life elsewhere. But the ghosts of the past are never far away, and an unexpected return will turn his plans upside down.”

In addition to Sy, Ludivine Sagnier, Antoine Gouy, Soufiane Guerrab and Shirine Boutella also star. “Lupin” is created by George Kay, alongside François Uzan. The series is produced by Gaumont. Watch the trailer below.

Hulu’s “The D’Amelio Show” is back with a trailer for Season 3, as one of TikTok’s biggest families makes its return to TV. The new season will kick off on Sept. 20 with two of its six episodes.

This time around, Charli, Dixie, Heidi and Marc D’Amelio tackle new endeavors and personal drama as they take on Milan, “Dancing With the Stars” and the “Kids Choice Awards.” The series’ synopsis asks, “And with their futures on the line, the D’Amelios work to build their family business into an empire, but are Dixie and Charli yearning for more independence?”

Fresh off their recent appearance on the cover of Vogue’s September issue, icons Naomi Campbell, Cindy Crawford, Linda Evangelista and Christy Turlington reunite for the trailer of “The Super Models,” Apple TV+’s upcoming docuseries about the lives and careers of some of fashion’s most distinguished models of the ‘80s.

Together, Campbell, Crawford, Evangelista and Turlington reflect on their rise to fame on the runway, in magazines and as faces of pop culture, helping retrace the path they paved for today’s models and the fashion industry as a whole. The four-part series is filled with commentary from designers including Marc Jacobs, Donna Karan, Calvin Klein, Anna Sui, Donatella Versace, Vivienne Westwood and John Galliano.

Per the series’ official synopsis, “’The Super Models’ travels back to the 1980s, when four women from different corners of the world united in New York…Today, the four supermodels remain on the frontlines of culture through activism, philanthropy and business prowess. As the fashion industry continues to redefine itself — and women’s roles within it — this is the ultimate story of power and how four women came together to claim it, paving the way for those to follow.”

The docuseries was directed by Roger Ross Williams and Larissa Bills. BYUtv has shared a sneak peek at the upcoming return of “Ruby and the Well.” The fantasy-adventure series returns for its third season on Sept. 30 with two new episodes.

The eight-episode season stars Zoe Wiesenthal as Ruby O’Reilly, Dylan Kingwell as Sam, Lina Sennia as Mina and Kristopher Turner as Daniel O’Reilly. In Season 3, Ruby and her friends return to the well for a little magic help as they further explore the secrets of their town.

Bloomberg Media has announced a new slate of original programming including “Exponentially with Azeem Azhar” (Sept. 6), “Hello World” (Sept. 7), “Power Players” (Sept. 26), “AI IRL” Season 2 (Oct. 4), “The Businessweek Show” (Oct. 12) and “Bloomberg Investigates” Season 2 (Nov. 7).

The Africa Channel (TAC) will debut a new reality series on Oct. 19 called “African Royale,” about the life of Her Imperial Highness Abimbola Fernandez, who comes from Nigeria.

The series follows her as she makes a life for herself in Los Angeles while working to preserve her late father’s legacy and her family’s multi-billion-dollar fortune. Her father, His Imperial Highness Garsan Fulani of Kano, was a diamond, oil and gold tycoon. Abimbola is joined in Los Angeles with her friend Akera Lewis, an actress, her spiritual coach Maryanna Nagle, agent Tiara Teruel and rock musician Myke Terry. The show depicts Abimbola adjusting to life in Hollywood and dealing with the cultural differences between LA and Nigeria.

HIRINGS

“Extra” has tapped Mona Kosar Abdi and Megan Ryte as hosts for the upcoming 30th season set to premiere on Monday, Sept. 11, Theresa Coffino and Jeremy Spiegel announced Wednesday.

Kosar Abdi joins as a senior correspondent and weekend co-host based out of New York City while Ryte will be a correspondent based in Los Angeles alongside host Billy Bush and senior correspondent/weekend co-host Melvin Robert.

“We are thrilled to welcome Mona and Megan to the team,” said Coffino and Spiegel, “Extra” executive producers. “Between Mona’s experience in news and her enthusiasm for celebrity and pop culture, and Megan’s background in radio and music, both will bring a fresh perspective to the show as we move into our 30th milestone of being… Extra!”

CNN Worldwide has tapped Alex Marquardt to serve as its chief national security correspondent, the news company announced Tuesday.

Having previously served as a senior national security correspondent for CNN, Marquardt has spearheaded CNN’s domestic and international breaking news coverage. His coverage has seen him follow the war in Ukraine, the January 6 insurrection, Black Lives Matter protests protests and ongoing foreign policy and national security issues.

Marquardt was on the ground in February 2022 when Russia invaded Ukraine, leveraging his expertise from almost 15 years of covering Russia, Ukraine and Washington to enhance CNN’s coverage of the war.

Marquardt will be based in the Washington, D.C. bureau in his new role of chief national security correspondent.

Fly On The Wall Entertainment is searching for a Chief Candy Officer (CCO) in a new unscripted television series, as part of their partnership with the candy retailer Candy Funhouse. NBA star Giannis Antetokounmpo and his brothers Thanasis, Kostas and Alex are creating the series.

The show’s description reads: “The series will see individuals competing for this coveted position, with the winner landing this one-of-a-kind opportunity to represent Candy Funhouse while being the head candy taste tester and flavor innovator, holding candy brainstorms as well as conducting candy experiments, running candy board meetings, and more, all made sweeter by the $100,000 salary.”

Antetokounmpo is the new owner of Candy Funhouse and serves as executive producer on the upcoming series.

EVENTS

Grambling State and Jackson State are going head to head at Michael B. Jordan’s Invesco QQQ Legacy Classic, which will return for its third year on Saturday, Feb. 3, 2024, airing on TNT.

The annual QQQ Legacy Classic, created by Jordan, WME Sports, Harris Blitzer Sports and  Entertainment and Horizon Sports and Experiences, will sport a double header of HBCU men’s basketball games. This year’s slate will spotlight the first-ever SWAC conference matchup between Grambling State and Jackson State, in addition to Hampton University and Howard University.

Part of the proceeds generated by the Invesco QQQ Legacy Classic will support organizations focused on advancing Black educational institutions and the local Newark community.

CBS has announced that actor and comedian Damon Wayans, Jr. will host a new original game show called “Raid the Cage,” set to premiere on Oct. 13 at 9:00 p.m. ET. Emmy winner Jeannie Mai Jenkins will serve as co-host alongside Wayans.

The game show tracks contestants as they vie for prizes. Two teams of two race for grab-and-go prizes from the Cage with a limited amount of time on the clock; their time is increased if they correctly answer trivia questions. The team with the highest dollar value in prizes wins the competition and moves on to the final round to “Beat the Cage” for the biggest prizes offered.

Wayans also serves as an executive producer on the show. Jack Martin is showrunner and producer and Ves D’Elia and Heath Luman are co-executive producers. “Raid the Cage” is produced and distributed by Sony Pictures Television and based on the Israeli format by United Studios.

“Hot Bench,” the Emmy-nominated syndicated court show created by Judge Judgy Sheindlin, will return for its tenth season on Sept. 11. The show has been upgraded to various CBS-owned stations across the U.S.

In top markets, “Hot Bench” has moved to WCBS New York at 4 p.m., KCBS Los Angeles at 3 p.m., WBZ Boston and WFOR Miami at 3 p.m. and KOVR Sacramento at 2 p.m.

Grammy-winning country singer Wynonna Judd is set to bring Nashville, Tenn. to NBC this fall, first being awarded at NBC’s inaugural “People’s Choice Country Awards” and later hosting networks holiday special “Christmas at the Opry.”

Judd will be honored with the Country Champion Award on Sept. 28 during the award ceremony hosted at the Grand Ole Opry House for her continued philanthropy and activism during her three-decade career.

“Wynonna is one of the most recognized and lauded performers in country music,” said Cassandra Tryon, a senior VP at NBCUniversal Entertainment. “Not only is she incredibly talented, her selflessness and passion for putting the needs of others in the spotlight is unmatched. We can’t think of a better person to honor as our inaugural ‘Country Champion’ and to celebrate the holidays with across these two major country music events.”

On Dec. 7, Judd will host the two-hour Christmas special out of Nashville, Tenn. which is set to tape next month on Oct. 3.

NBC will ring in this holiday season with a new live music special “Christmas at Graceland.” Shot at Elvis Presley’s Graceland estate, the special will unite some of music’s favorite stars for a festive celebration following NBC’s annual “Christmas in Rockefeller Center” segment.

“My family and I are elated to open the doors to Graceland in this first-of-its-kind special,” said Riley Keough, EP and granddaughter of Presley. “With intimate musical performances drawing inspiration from my grandfather Elvis’s cherished Christmases in Memphis, viewers will be invited to experience firsthand the magic that is Christmas at Graceland.”

“Christmas at Graceland” is produced by Done + Dusted, Authentic Studios and Felix Culpa and executive produced by Keough, Raj Kapoor, Katy Mullan, Ian Stewart, Colin Smeeton, Matthew Gross, Marc Rosen, Gina Gammel and Joel Weinshanker. The special will air Nov. 29 at 10 p.m. on NBC.
