NBCU News Group Ups Jessica Kurdali To Head Of Talent Strategy

EXCLUSIVE: Jessica Kurdali is expanding her purview at NBC News. Kurdali, who most recently served as Vice President of Talent Development, has been elevated to SVP, Talent Strategy, at NBCU News Group, supporting both NBC News and MSNBC.

The promotion was announced today by Rebecca Blumenstein, NBC News President of Editorial.

“During her 20-plus years at the network, Jessica has developed a keen eye for identifying talent and has been instrumental in shaping our talent strategy, with a focus on diverse representation, across NBC News, MSNBC and NBC News NOW,” Blumenstein said in a note to staff announcing Kurdali’s promotion.

In her role as VP Talent Development, Kurdali “has been involved in the hiring, retaining and guiding of many of our on-air journalists, anchors and hosts,” Blumenstein said. “She has also identified emerging voices, experts and contributors that have been invaluable during breaking news events, as well as Presidential campaigns and elections, Supreme Court hearings and royal weddings.”

Some of the talent deals Kurdali has been involved with include Kristen Welker, Dylan Dreyer, Gabe Gutierrez, Hallie Jackson, Gadi Schwartz and more recently, Laura Jarrett, Jen Psaki, Alex Wagner and Ana Cabrera.

Kurdali began her 20+-year career at NBC News as an intern, rising through the ranks to her current position.
