NBC’s ‘World Of Dance’ Adds Derek Hough & Ne-Yo As Judges

NBC’s upcoming dance competition show has a pair of new judges. Dancer and Emmy winner Derek Hough and singer-actor Ne-Yo will join Jennifer Lopez at the judges table for World of Dance, the 10-episode series from Universal Television Alternative Studio and Nuyorican Productions that will give hoofers the platform to showcase their talents and the opportunity to receive a grand prize of $1 million.

Hough has won a pair of Choreography Emmys among eight nominations for Dancing with the Stars and is set to play Corny Collins in NBC’s musical Hairspray Live! that airs December 7 from Los Angeles. Ne-Yo is a producer, composer and Grammy-winning singing who played the Tin Man in the Peacock’s 2015 production The Wiz Live!

“Jennifer, Derek and Ne-Yo are three of the most accomplished dancers of their generation, and their incredible insight from the judges table will be both inspiring and wholly constructive to the world-class level of dancers who are competing on the show,” said Meredith Ahr, President of Universal Television Alternative Studio. “We feel so very honored that the three of them are giving back to the dance community in this way.”

World of Dance will see solo dancers competing against duos and crews in an unlimited range of dance, including hip-hop, krumping, popping, locking, tap, ballet, break dancing, ballroom, stomping and more. No premiere date has been set for the series.
