NBC’s Scripted Stash: How Many Episodes of Quantum Leap and Other Dramas Will Be Ready for Fall?
NBC’s Scripted Stash: How Many Episodes of Quantum Leap and Other Dramas Will Be Ready for Fall?

In a most unusual Fall TV season featuring precious few scripted series (due to the months-long WGA and recently launched SAG-AFTRA strikes), NBC is arguably the broadcast network holding the strongest hand.

More from TVLine

Sure, The CW has eight scripted series populating its own fall line-up, but each and everyone one of ’em are acquired shows that have already aired/streamed elsewhere.

CBS is “borrowing” a pair of scripted series from sister outlets — Paramount Network’s Yellowstone and Paramount+s SEAL Team — to fill slots on its own slate, and is also airing repeats of NCIS, FBI and Blue Bloods.

And between Fox and ABC, the only scripted fare is the former’s animated offerings (all penned a long while ago) and Abbott Elementary reruns on the latter.

NBC, meanwhile, has no fewer than four original series that will be ready to go this fall with new episodes — around 40 hours’ worth of bakery-fresh content in all. They include the returning Quantum Leap (with Season 2) and Magnum P.I. (with the back half of its final season), plus freshman dramas The Irrational and Found (both of which wrapped filming earlier this year).

FWIW, NBC also has episodes of La Brea Season 3 and a whole season of the new sitcom Extended Family at the ready, though both are being held for midseason at this point.

How many episodes of Quantum Leap, Magnum P.I., Found and The Irrational can viewers expect to see begin unspooling this fall? Well, nearly enough to get each series into December — if not into early 2024, if NBC schedules a rerun here and there. Read on for the current episodes counts for each….
