NBC News Correspondent Goes Viral After Her Kid Crashes Studio During Live Report
Breaking international news is definitely important, but sometimes snack time is more pressing.
NBC News correspondent Courtney Kube was doing a live broadcast Wednesday morning on MSNBC when she received an unexpected on-air surprise -- her son!
Kube, who covers national security and the Pentagon, was discussing Turkey's incursion into Syria from the NBC News studios in Washington, D.C. when her 4-year-old son mosied on to the live set and tried to get his mommy's attention.
It's pretty hilarious -- Kube sees little Ryan walking up on her monitor and has a moment of panic, but keeps it completely professional and continues delivering the news while trying to shoo her son away.
The boy could care less about foreign affairs and is only interested in getting his mother's attention before someone in the control room cut away to a shot of the region in Turkey.
Kube later explained that her worlds unfortunately collided when, "Breaking news in Syria didn’t line up with preschool drop-off, so he and his twin brother were with me."
MSNBC put up the adorable moment on social media with the hashtags #MSNBCMoms and #WorkingMoms, and fans applauded the network for keeping it real.
"I think it’s fantastic that she’s allowed to have her kids around while working. Good on you MSNBC," one fan wrote.
Another tweeted, "Working mom multitasking on live TV sends positive message."
One attentive viewer gave props to the control room, explaining, "Kudos to the savvy producer in the control room who thought, 'uh...now's probably a good time to run a graphic for a few seconds."
