(NBC) — NBC’s trio of “Chicago” dramas will air season finales Wednesday night.

Stars from each show were on the network’s upfront carpet last week and discussed what is in store.

For NBC’s “Chicago” dramas Hollywood strikes meant a late start.

“The season, it flew by,” said S. Epatha Merkerson of “Chicago Med.”

“We only did half a season, but we’re like, “Oh my God,” did we only do half?” said Miranda Rae Mayo of “Chicago Fire.”

And a change in the approach.

“We had to pull it back a little,” said Jason Beghe of “Chicago PD.” “Less cars blowing up and buildings falling down.”

Wednesday night, all three series wrap up shortened seasons.

On “Chicago Med,” it is heightened emotions for Dr. Goodwin coping with her Alzheimer’s stricken ex-husband.

“I think our finale is going to hit the numbers in a really great way,” said Merkerson.

On “Chicago Fire,” many fans have been worried about the couple known as “Stellaride.”

“I have faith in the two of them but stay tuned,” said Miranda Rae Mayo.

Mayo said to look for an angry Stella, “In a way, I don’t think, we have seen on the show before. That was fun to do.”

Not so fun is seeing Eamonn Walker leave as a regular cast member.

“The love and the presence that he has infused over the past 12 years, it’s immeasurable,” said Mayo.

On “Chicago PD” Hank Voight is in mortal danger after being kidnapped by a serial killer.

“An old Hank comes back that you haven’t seen in years, but also a new Hank that you’ve never seen,” said Jason Beghe.

The race is on to find him, but the episode also marks the exit of Hailey Upton, played by Tracy Spiradakos.

“Our show has changed because of her,” said Beghe. “Not just her as an actor, but her as a person.”

Fans will find out if anyone else’s time might be up.

NBC’s “Chicago” dramas close out the season Wednesday night, starting at 8 p.m. on NBC4.
