NBA star James Harden has been hit with a lawsuit accusing of turning his Beverly Hills rental into a party house.
According to court documents obtained by The Blast, a man named George Santopietro has filed suit against Harden.
Harden rented a 8-bedroom, 10-bathroom, 14,554 sq. ft mansion from Santopietro. He began living at the property on August 11, 2019.
Per their contract, Harden agreed no smoking inside the home, had to take out rental insurance, no valet cars were to be parked on the street and no more than 7 guests at a time.
Santopietro claims Harden and his agents mislead him by promising to follow the rules. He says Harden turned the property into a “party house”.
The suit says Harden had 2 parties “at which substantially more than 15 were in attendance each time.”
Santopietro says the contract stated, “The Premises are for the sole use as a personal vacation residence by no more than 7 adults.” The property owner says for events, he can fetch $150,000 for his home.
The lawsuit accuses Harden and his agents of beach of contract, fraud and unfair business practices.
He accuses the defendants of making, “intentionally false and fraudulent representations and statements as to their intended use of the property. Defendants made these false and fraudulent statements to induce Plaintiff to enter into the Contract and not charge Defendants the rate Plaintiff gets when renting to someone who discloses they intend to use the property for more than 15 people. Defendants represented and warranted he property would not be used by more than 15 people.
The suit is seeking unspecified damages.
