NBA All-Star 2023: Participants for Skills Challenge, 3-Point, Dunk Contest

The NBA on Tuesday unveiled the participants for the Skills Challenge, 3-Point Contest and Slam Dunk Contest on Feb. 18 during All-Star Weekend in Salt Lake City, Utah.

The weekend will get underway on Friday with the Celebrity Game and the Rising Stars game at 9 p.m. EST. The events will conclude on Sunday with the G League Next Up Game at 3 p.m. EST and the 72nd All-Star Game at 8:30 p.m. EST.

The festivities on All-Star Saturday night will begin at 8 p.m. EST and will be televised on TNT starting with the Skills Challenge. The second event will be the 3-Point Contest with the Slam Dunk Contest wrapping up the evening at Vivint Arena.

Skills Challenge

The Skills Challenge will kick off the festivities on All-Star Saturday night and will be a three-round competition this year with three teams of three players.

The first round will consist of a team relay with five stations to complete on the court. The next round will be a team passing exercise with various targets on the court worth two, four and six points. The final round will be shooting drills from five different spots.

The team with the most points after three rounds will be the champion.

The 3 teams set to compete in the Skills Challenge

  • Antetokounmpos: Giannis Antetokounmpo (Milwaukee Bucks), Thanasis Antetokounmpo (Milwaukee Bucks) and Alex Antetokounmpo (Wisconsin Herd, G League).

  • Jazz: Jordan Clarkson, Walker Kessler and Collin Sexton.

  • Rooks: Paolo Banchero (Orlando Magic), Jaden Ivey (Detroit Pistons) and Jabari Smith Jr. (Houston Rockets).

3-Point Contest

The 3-point contest will feature eight players in the two-round competition:

  • Tyrese Haliburton, Indiana Pacers

  • Tyler Herro, Miami Heat

  • Buddy Hield, Indiana Pacers

  • Kevin Huerter, Sacramento Kings

  • Damian Lillard, Portland Trail Blazers

  • Lauri Markkanen, Utah Jazz

  • Anfernee Simons, Portland Trail Blazers

  • Jayson Tatum, Boston Celtics

Slam Dunk Contest

The Slam Dunk Contest will have four contestants this year:

  • KJ Martin, Houston Rockets

  • Mac McClung, Philadelphia 76ers

  • Trey Murphy III, New Orleans Pelicans

  • Jericho Sims, New York Knicks
